Knowing a broad range of languages is the foundation of a global understanding and unity between all of the different cultures.

In a world with many different nations and culture a  language is quite important for understanding purposes par exemple,If you were ever to go to Saudia Arabia, a country with such a traditional way of life.It would be hard to adapt and settle there because you wouldn’t understand anything. Learning a new language is much more important than it seems because it gives you an insight of the country.

I remember when I first started French in St.Raphaelas, I didn’t really know much about France apart from the fact they ate snails! but as the years progressed and I matured. I had become more knowledgeable about the life in France, such as how many words in English came from French words. Par exemple cafe and Omelette. I also know that France is quite influenced by sports e.g tour de france and le petanque.

Another advantage is that most countries are submerged in the recession, which has resulted in an increasing  un-employment rate. As most firms dont have the finance to employ people, knowing an extra european language, could be of a great benefit to you. As the companies could hire you because they could send you abroad to attend meetings and represent the firm in foreign affairs. So therefor  in my opinion it is an incentive  for people to be bilingual.

“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. if you talkt to him in his own language that goes to his heart.” Nelson Mandela.
